Were it not for Pujols monster homerun off
of Brad Lidge in the 2005 postseason, I'd have seen the last
game in the old Busch. But his walk-off sent the series from Houston
to St. Louis for one more game. However, I was lucky enough to
see the first ballgame every played in the new stadium. It was
an exhibition game between the Memphis Redbirds (AAA) and our
Springfield Cardinals (AA).
We made the trek up to St. Louis and
hit the ballpark on a cool night on the 4th of April. This was
the view from our seats but after watching a few inning we spend the
rest of the game wandering around checking out the new park and
talking it up with friends were at the game as well. The
stadium wasn't completely done and the seats in the left field upper
deck needed to be installed. |
