I don't know that I've seen a town more excited than Springfield was for the home opener exhibition games against the big league team.

The return of professional baseball saw the same team, the Springfield Cardinals, that started Stan Musial's career over 50 years ago.

The Springfield Cardinals vs. the St. Louis Cardinals Saturday and Sunday exhibition games proved to be the hottest ticket around.  I've said it was tougher to get a ticket to those two games than it was to the 2004 World Series games in St. Louis...and NO ONE has argued.
