The stadium was built in 1914, making it
the second oldest major league stadium today, behind Fenway in Boston.
As you can see from this shot it truly
reflects the stadium construction of that time. There are not as
many seats as most ballparks (somehow they've squeezed nearly 40,000
seat out of it) and the angles are not as steep as a lot of the
"municipal-style" stadiums that are quickly being abandoned.
There are plenty of seats with obstructed views but all this just adds
to the charm.
