On my first float of the Buffalo River I realized I was seeing the whole river for the first time. For years I had been hiking in and around it seeing a series of snapshots. But now I was able to take in the entire majesty of the river itself. It is as impressive as it is ever-changing. One day it is a swollen torrent, the next an exciting float, the next a placid stream connecting still pools. But on every day a trip down the river is something you can't see any other way. |
