Hideout Hollow, Buffalo River (January, 2009)

Hideout Hollow is one of the hidden gems of the Buffalo River area.  What's not to love about this one?  It is just a mile in (so a 2 mile round-trip) and the elevation change is relatively flat.  It interesting sites which include a big view and a bluff "cave" complete with a waterfall.  It has nice little bonuses like a part of the trail that heads through a pine grove and an interesting exposed bedrock creek above the falls.  The real kicker, though, is it very rarely has more than a few vehicles in the small trailhead parking lot.

This is the hollow and bluff overhang you are heading for.  It is a great little place to hang out and take in some great outdoors!  (You get a sense of scale with Greg sitting down photographing the falls out in front of him.
