If you go to Hideout Hollow you really
have to get down into the hollow and under the bluff overhang to get
a good feel for the area and to experience the falls. They
aren't the biggest in the area but at 37 feet they are certainly
respectable.
The water was flowing over the edge
(which it isn't always doing) but it wasn't the all out flow you'd
like to see. Nonetheless it was still a sight to stare at for
a while. We hung out down there for about a half an hour
photographing the falls from different angles and taking it all in.
The river gage at Ponca was at 2.6 feet. |
