Sam's Throne and the climbing areas
around it are characterized by the sandstone walls that make for
such good climbing. The areas are in the Ozark National Forest
and are not "user-friendly." The US Forest Service manages
forest and not tourist like the National Park Service might.
This doesn't mean that it isn't an excellent climbing place, though.
I had been to the area once before
several years ago and with a group lead by someone who was an avid
