Now a state park, Ha Ha Tonka was once
an estate build around the turn of the century by a wealthy business
man. The estate, designed as a European-style castle, burned
in 1942 and was later turned into the centerpiece of the state park.
For a very interesting history of Ha Ha
Tonka, including the castle, visit DNR's website
here.
My great aunt, Esther, actually had
dinner in this castle, obviously before it burned. |
