Eric and I decided to do a two-day float
in the middle of the summer in 1997. (It was late July, I
believe, and it was hotter 'n hell!)
Friday night Eric drove the 5-6 hours from
Des Moines and by 10am Saturday morning we had headed 2 hours east of
Springfield to Eminence and then on to Round Springs were we put in.
We floated from there to this gravel bar (island) in the Blue Spring
area where we camped for the night. It was great
campsite...plenty of dry firewood, a spot sand to put the tent on and
no one for miles! |
