The stretch between McBaine and the Easley is mainly located in an
area called Eagle Bluffs Conservation Area. The
conservation area has plenty to offer trail users. In
addition to the birding opportunities created by the
wetlands, there is
a trail (shown) that leads from the river up to a view of the river.
I believe it also allows you to see the Roche Percee Natural Arch up
close. We didn't stop to take the trail up the bluff but will
plan to do so next time.
The day we decided to ride the trail had a
forecasted high of 91º so we decided to start early and had dropped
the vehicle at Easley and were on the trail by 10am. The whole
trip took us about 2 hours so we were out of there before it started
getting hot. The heavy shade also helped. |
