upland area can sometimes look similar to a desert climate.
Lots of loose, flat rock, very liitle soil, and even prickly-pear
cactus are common on most trails in the area.
I would be remiss if I didn't send
a shout out to my buddy Ben Bryant. Ben and I discovered Sac
in its infancy almost entirely by accident. We became
addicted right away! As a result I bought my own bike and we
headed out any chance we had. I wouldn't be nearly as
competent of a rider as I am today if I hadn't been forced to
constantly work to stay up with him. =)
