Camelback Mountain, Phoenix (January 2009)

 
We were there in January and what really took me by surprise was how green the desert was.  I noticed it right away on approach to the airport.  It was also noticeable when on the ground as well!  Apparently they'd had some rain recently that helped but after I thought about it a bit I realized the 3 previous trips I'd made to Phoenix had been in summer or fall, typically the driest seasons.

This is right off the trailhead near a little pavilion.
