Welcome to the Valley of the Sun.
The Phoenix Metro Area comprises nearly 1,000 square miles and is
home to 4.3 million people. The relatively flat valley lies at
1,100 feet above sea level and is dotted by peaks that stick up
1,500 feet above the valley floor as you can see here from Camelback
Mountain. Parts of the year it
can get pretty hot, but rest of the time it is damn near perfect
weather. That's why we decided a mid-March trip would be just
about right. Our timing was perfect! The weather
couldn't have been better.
Allegiant Air provides direct service
to Phoenix-Mesa Airport (AZA) from Springfield and at a very good
price--roundtrip was $140 each. |
