Arizona Snowbowl, Flagstaff (March, 2010)

When I would tell someone we were going skiing I'd get usually get a funny look.  Clearly those flatlanders not familiar with the concept of elevation.  The peak you see here is actually the highest point in Arizona at just over 12,500 feet above sea level.  So granted the skiing is right next to the highest point, but it is still great skiing in Arizona!

The location I'm talking is Arizona Snowbowl and we were lucky enough to spend 2 days there skiing towards the end of what had been one of their best seasons with over 320" of snowfall (5 feet more than their average).

Pictured here is the Hart Prairie with a double lift and a fairly nice, wide-open beginner (green) route.  We spent an hour or so warming up on this one.
