Slide Rock State Park - Sedona, AZ (September, 2002)

Through most of the slide area there are pretty (red rock) canyon walls.  I can imagine that in the event of a thunderstorm the water can rip through this area.

At the base of the cliffs were a series of ledges leading out to the main "channel" of the stream.  These ledges provided great spots just to sit and watch everyone brave the rapids of the slides.  Even if you don't have time to jump in the water the walk down to the canyon is very scenic.  (Not long, either.  The parking lot is just a ¼ of a mile away.
