Definitely our favorite hike in the
area, West Fork of Oak Creek is a few miles north of Slide Rock State
Park and about 10 miles north of Sedona. The main tributary of Oak Creek, the West Fork carves its way through a 14 mile canyon providing some beautiful scenery and a great hike. The hike is three miles (according to the National Forest Service; but we'd argue that it was further... more like 3½ to 4 miles) and it mirrors the creek the whole way.
