Saguaro National Park - Tucson Mountain District, AZ (September, 2007)

Just outside of Tucson in southern Arizona, Saguaro National Park protects one of the best collections of saguaro cacti in the world.  In fact, this portion of southern Arizona and northern Mexico is the only place in the world the saguaro is found.

Saguaro NP isn't a large park but its close proximity to a large metro area and two different districts (25 miles or so apart) give visitors plenty of opportunity to experience the cactus forests and the Sonoran Desert.

You can visit the NPS site for additional information on the park.
