Overview - Sedona, AZ (September, 2007)

The red rock spires dot the entire landscape and each are named and well-known by the locals.  But far and away the most famous (and most photogenic) is Cathedral Rock.

There's all kinds of BS floating around about vortices in the area (and some of the locals take it very seriously) but believe it or not there is still something captivating about Cathedral Rock especially from this vantage point.  This view of the reflection in a placid stretch of Oak Creek is at Red Rock Crossing.  Word of warning though, shooting a photo here is not easy.  The spot is an idiot's gathering place.  I had more white trash standing right in the middle of my (and 3 other photographer's) shots than I've had before!!  Everyone is entitled to enjoy the area but just be courteous!!
