Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona (November, 2011)

We had planned to go to the Grand Canyon on Saturday before heading back to Phoenix for a Sunday morning flight home.  With the threat of weather moving in Friday night we were worried our trip up there was in jeopardy.  As we awoke Saturday morning in our hotel in Flagstaff we were greeted to around 6 inches of snow but it was pretty wet and we started checking weather reports.  It seemed like Grand Canyon National Park had about the same amount of snow but that Highway 64 (between I-40 and the park) was clear, so we headed out.

Man, were we in for a treat!  The roads were clear and the park was just starting to get busy when we arrived.   Though the temps were still around 30 the warm sun had already begun to melt the snow.  Despite that it still looked great!
