Petrified Forest National Park is one of
the most barren and fascinating places I've ever been to. It
has been on my list of places to visit for a quite a while and with
a day to spend in northern Arizona before we headed to the Grand
Canyon we quickly add it to the list to spend some time in.
We got there in the early afternoon as
some ominous looking clouds moved through without doing anything but
cooling it off a bit. However, it was still very windy (just
not as bad as before when there were 60 mph gusts). With only
a few hours to spend there before the park closed at 5pm we had to
make the most of it and moved rather quickly. If I had the
chance, I'd certainly go back and see just about everything I could.
