Atlanta, Georgia (October 2008)

In late October I had a conference in Atlanta so the family decided to tag along and see the city (and then head up to the Smoky Mountains for the back half of the week.)

Atlanta is a pretty cool city with lots to do and anytime other than the dead of summer has a pretty moderate climate.  The 4 days we were there it was sunny and pleasant with cooler temps (jeans and fleece at night).

Atlanta is the 8th largest metro area in the U.S. with 5.3M people, so there's no lack of size!  (Funny enough the city population is only 537,000).  There are plenty of attractions for those millions of residents and even more tourist that visit each year.  Pictured is Centennial Olympic Park, site of the 1996 Summer Olympics.
