Atlanta, Georgia (October 2008)

We were staying right next to Peachtree Center in the heart of downtown.  The MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) train runs pretty much everywhere we wanted to go that wasn't within walking distance so we didn't need a rental car at all.

MARTA trains are a nice mass transit system with plenty of stops and plenty of trains.  It isn't quite a dominant as say CTA or the NYC subway, or as plush as the Metro in DC, but gets it done!

Our hotel (Hyatt Regency) was in a great location for what we wanted to do.  It was right around the corner from the Peachtree Center station and was close to Centennial Park and Pemberton Place (World of Coke and Georgia Aquarium).  It was a cool hotel as well with some really cool rooms.
