Nantahala National Forest, North Carolina (October 2008)

If you want to keep following the trail you'll head back into the forest, going downhill and eventually come back to the lower section of the falls.  From here there's a little bit more trail to see a bit at the very, very bottom but probably not worth the extra climb back out.

The trail is nice and maintained (or well-used) but it is trail so come prepared.

As you can see it was fall when we were there so the flow was low and you could move around where you wanted without getting we or in danger of slipping in.  I bet Glen Falls can take on some completely different looks depending on the amount of water heading over the falls.
