We were there in late October so the
foliage was in its peak in certain places. We left the cabin
in Bryson City in the morning and drove to some waterfalls in Pisgah
National Forest and eventually ended up in Brevard for lunch.
From there we headed north on US Highway 276 and jumped on the
Parkway at mile marker 411 right at the Cold Mountain lookout.
We took it from there all the way to mile marker 456 and exited at
Soco Gap onto US Highway 19.
Right away we were treated to views of the uniquely shaped
Lookout
Mountain and a pullout for the falls around
Graveyard
Fields.
This was all in the mid-afternoon so
the photos are pretty bad...sorry! |
