Pisgah National Forest, North Carolina (October 2008)

The first stop was right off the highway about 28 miles south of Waynesville (11 miles north of Brevard) at Sliding Rock.  This is more a natural waterslide than a waterfall and during the warmer months this is apparently quite a happening place!

Notice the railings on the left of the photo.  There is normally a line there waiting slide down into the 6-8 foot deep pool at the bottom.  The area has a $1 admission and has lifeguards during the busy months.  Check out some YouTube video of sliders!
