The Chicago Tribune Tower is one of my
favorites in the city. It is a 462 foot tall office building
with 631,000 sqft. What makes it so iconic is its location on
the southern end of the Magnificent Mile, right where Michigan
Avenue reaches the Chicago River. (The plaza next to it is
also the site of first residence of Chicago.)
Not only is it a pretty cool building
but it has a few unique features that make it worth checking out.
More on my favorite feature later, but one you can kinda see in the
photo is that right on the sidewalk are some big first floor
windows. That's where the WGN radio studio is and you can
watch the live boardcast. |
