Beijing is a remarkable city. Very
modern, very busy, and very much the ideal dream of China. It
is, after all, the capital city and in some ways the showcase city
of the central government. The population of 16 million makes
it the same size as the United States largest metro area--New York
City. (Shanghai is the largest Chinese city with over 22
million people.) You can see
from the photo the modern aspects of the city. The buildings
are glass and steel and resemble some of the latest in architecture.
You might also notice, while driving around Beijing the incredible
landscaping on all the highways. Again, labor is in plenty so
immense amounts of time and effort go into the perfectly manicured
medians and roadsides. |
