Dalian, Liaoning Province (May, 2007)

The top left photo shows the changing globe in Youhao Circle and the top right one shows the incredible streetlights. These things put off a ton of light and used compact florescent bulbs. One of our delegation members, a national Chinese, indicated he knew the lights cost seven times more than normal streetlights.

The photos on the bottom show Victory Square, just down from Friendship circle. The Pizza Hut shown was where we had dinner. After several days of Chinese food, this was a welcome site and an enjoyable dinner to remind us of home! The area around Victory Square was filled with lights, restaurants and shops (including a shopping mall) and very much reminded me of Times Square in NYC.
