At one end of Xinghai Square is the
structure in the top left photo. It is an open book and has symbolic
meanings. The monument is built right on the ocean so it afforded
great views such as the one in the bottom right photo.
At the other end of the park was an
ornamental column (top right photo) with plenty of flowers and
fountains surrounding it. Apparently it is a replica of one in the
Forbidden City in Beijing.
The bottom left photo shows one of
the many sculptures around the square depicting world sports. Click
