In late January we began planning a ski
trip (my first ever, Mel's first to Colorado) with our good friends
Jason and KariLynn. The plan was to leave Springfield around
5pm on a Wednesday and drive through the night to arrive in Copper
Mountain at about 8am just in time to hit the slopes. It was a long trip, with little sleep, but we made it fine and after a much needed breakfast at Denny's in Frisco (a few miles from Copper), this was the scene as the first bit of sunlight was bringing the Rockies to life.
