Copper Mountain Resort, Colorado (February, 2003)

Overnight nearly 9" of new snow fell and 5" was added during the day on Friday.  In fact, by the time it stopped Saturday night there was over 22" of fresh snow on the ground.  The base had gone from around 58 inches to 67 inches.  Click here for the Copper Snow Report.  Still the crowds were low and though the wind could get going, and it was snowing hard at times it was great for skiing!

We ended the day by taking the American Flyer (right before it closed) to the top to ski Soliloquy-to-Roundabout.  A few minutes into the run I sat down and took in the beautiful mountain view.  In a few minutes I was the last one on the hill.  It was quiet and snowing hard.  What a neat experience!
