The next morning we got up early for a
full day of sightseeing before heading home that late afternoon and
evening. First stop was the
state capitol building. It is a nice building with great
people. Everyone was friendly, especially the folks in the
Treasurer's office who let us hold a brick of bills that was
$200,000!
From there we went to the Peabody
Hotel to see the
ducks march through the lobby on the red carpet and into the
fountain, which they do everyday!
We also had time to check out the Old
State House which is the former capitol and is the oldest surviving
capitol building west of the Mississippi (built in 1833). |
