The model started on the Mississippi River
south of St. Louis and on the Ohio River around Paducah, KY.
They merged at Cairo, IL and took off toward the Gulf Of Mexico 1,000
miles away. In order to not
mislead visitors that both rivers just kinda started right there, they did
a nice job depicting the headwaters of each. A wall (pictured
here) with water running down it contains the geography of the
Missouri River and the upper Mississippi. The other side showed
the Ohio River valley. Really a neat way of depicting it! |
