Midweek we decided it was time to get out
a little and explore the area. We thought a slight change of
scenery, a lighthouse, and a National Park would be the ticket!
So we headed about 2 hours northeast (around Camp Lejeune, a Marine
Base) to
Cape Lookout National Seashore.
We stopped in at the Visitors Center and
checked out the few displays, got our passport stamps and headed
back a mile or two to
Calico Jack's,
one of a number of ferry services which would take you over to Cape
Lookout and the lighthouse (which is visible in the background of
the photo). The ferry ride over and back cost $40. |
