Other than the South Street Seaport, this
was the largest disappointment. All the hype around the World
Trade Center site, was nothing more than a large construction site.
The "hole" left from the WTC is now the site of, what we assumed to
be, the construction of a temporary subway station. There was no
viewing platform, no memorial to speak of, and no information.
Though it was crap as a memorial it is
good to see that in the true American entrepreneurial spirit we aren't
wasting time feeling sorry for ourselves, we're building again and
moving on. To me that's a better tribute to those who died and
sign to terrorists around the world. |
