American Museum of Natural History, New York City (September, 2006)

We missed this museum on our first trip to New York and almost ran out of time this time as well.  But, with a few hours before we had to head out to the airport we decided to check it out.  We weren't disappointed.

This is the Milstein Hall of Ocean Life.  The huge 94-foot replica of a blue whale is quite something to walk under and around.  The hall is just recently renovated and houses lots of great ocean displays.

It was really our first stop after entering the museum directly from the subway.  Located on the west edge of Central Park, the museum is easily accessible by a variety of means.
