Field Museum, Chicago (June, 2008)

The Field Museum is one of my favorite natural history museums in the US.  The collections are unique and strike a nice balance between oddity, historic preservation and just down right fascinating.  In addition the building, built in 1921, is a grand place to display the many exhibits.

Officially named the Field Museum of Natural History, it's collections range from geology to ancient cultures to biology from all over the world.  It is a great place to spend a half of a day seeing it all or spending just an hour hitting the high points.  Admission is $14 so it isn't bad if you can only spend a little time there.
