Heading out to our friends' wedding in New
Jersey we decided to fly in and out of Newark and go out a day early
in order to spend just one day in "The City" just the two of us.
The logistics were quite a challenge but
we got them worked out alright. Our flight left Springfield at
5pm and after a several hour layover in Chicago we landed at
Newark at 2am. By the time we got our bags and got through a
hotel shuttle screw-up we hit the sack at 3:30am in a Hampton Inn
next to the airport. The next morning we got up as early as we
could stand, took a hotel shuttle to the airport and jumped on NJ
Transit to NYC and then rode the subway to our hotel in downtown
Manhattan--the Marriott Downtown. This was the great view from
our room. |
