Across the harbor is Federal Hill.
Used today as a park, the hill has a very interesting history.
It played a role in the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812 and in the
Civil War General Butler hauled cannons up the hill and fired them on
nests of Confederate sympathizers.
As we made the trek up the hill a wedding
party was just finishing some photos. There were lots of
residents walking their dogs up there and several groups of people
just enjoying the day and the view of the harbor. |
