Ricketts Glen State Park, Pennsylvania (September, 2003)

We headed up the Glen Leigh Gorge side first and over the Highland Trail.  It was actually really nice to hear some quiet.  All the rushing water and roaring waterfalls subsided to a complete still forest.  An occasional bird was all we could hear.

Halfway through the Highland Trail is the Midway Crevasse, a mess of rock seemingly split open for you to walk through.  Here's some of that fog I was mentioning.

If you are starting from the southern trailhead, head up the Glen Leigh side and down the Ganoga Glen Gorge, which is steeper.  It also works better for building up to the huge falls!
