Park Core Area, Joshua Tree National Park (April, 2002)

 
The most dominant of the geologic features is the huge rocks scattered around the desert landscape.  The rocks provide areas for camping (again...in the shade if you are lucky), climbing, and just messing around.  Some of the best areas are Jumbo Rocks and Hidden Valley.
