Okay on to the really cool stuff.
Probably the best exhibit at the zoo is the gorillas. They have
a great habitat and the viewing "glass" is right there so you can see
what's going on...and there's usually plenty going on. Sometimes
the gorillas even walk up to the glass (I say glass, but it is really
thick acrylic.) and sit down to have a snack while leaning again the
glass. The gorillas were always
moving around or doing something. They display the typical "tribal"
behaviors they would in the wild. There is a dominant male--a
silverback, his females and young ones and then the "outcast" young
males. |
