The high country of Cedar Breaks National
Monument completes the triad of parks in the southwest corner of Utah.
From 5,000 feet ASL in Zion to 8,000 feet in Bryce to over 10,000 feet
in Cedar Breaks, our trip just kept getting higher and higher and a
late decision to drop by Cedar Breaks topped us out at 10,350 feet
above sea level, much higher than we ever knew existed in SW Utah.
The National Monument is similar to Bryce
in that it centers around a natural amphitheater pictured here.
There are no hoodoos here but the colors are just as brilliant if
not more so. Also from this height (at Point Supreme) there were
some great
views
available. |
