National Archives, Washington DC (August, 2004)

What is so impressive about the Archives is that it holds the original copies of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights.

This is the room that has them--the Rotunda for the Charters of Freedom.

There is usually a long line but it is worth it to take the time to gaze at 200+ year old documents that give you nearly very aspect of your life that you enjoy today.  Simply Awe-Inspiring.

Sorry for the lousy photography of the room and the documents.  There are to be no flashes (strictly enforced) and the lighting is very dim for photos.
