Smithsonian Museums, National Mall, Washington DC (August, 2004)

I was really excited about an opportunity to spend some time in a traveling exhibit that happened to be in the Museum of Natural History--Baseball As America.

It was a great collection of baseball memorabilia that shows how much the game of baseball has shaped American society.

The exhibit didn't allow photography beyond the San Diego Chicken suit (pictured), but there was an amazing collection of things from a ticket window from Old Comiskey Park, to a logo baseball that survived the fall of the World Trade Center, to a pair of "Shoeless" Joe Jackson's shoes.
