The latest addition to the D.C. monuments
and memorials is the World War II Memorial.
Opened on Memorial Day 2004 the memorial
has lots to offer visitors and is situated between the Washington
Monument and the Lincoln Memorial right on the eastern edge of the
Reflecting Pool.
Each piece of the memorial represents a
different aspect of the enormous war from the Pacific theatre to the
battles in Europe to efforts back home in the U.S.
