The Texas Wine Trail is the fancy
marketing name of the Texas wine country located in what is known as
Texas Hill Country--just north of San Antonio and just west of Austin. In the heart of this area is a nice little town, steeped in German heritage, called Fredericksburg. Shops, restaurants, bed and breakfasts, and all things touristy abound. There is a winery in Fredericksburg, but it isn't all that. (Although if you ask them, and even if you don't, they'll tell you otherwise.) We weren't impressed though. =) We plan to come back to Fredericksburg sometime to stay for a couple nights and enjoy. |
