We live life like you do. We get up every morning, sometimes way before we want to, and get the kids going too. Our life is crazy, hurried, pressured, occasionally rewarding and occasionally bit of a downer. Sometimes it is fun, sometimes it is challenging. There’s never enough time, enough money, or enough accomplishment. We daydream about getting away when it starts to get to us.

But before it gets the best of us, we get away. As we head out for an adventure we might take the kids, we might not. They love it when we do, but surprisingly they understand when they can’t. I think because it’s always been that way, but they’re kids—they’re resilient.

Regardless of the adventure, we revive ourselves and live life to the fullest. We do our homework and pick our pleasures. When we’re there we don’t let a moment pass us by so when we come back and real life happens again, we have something to hold on to. It’s what we do together—for ourselves, our marriage, our family.

Come join us! And maybe, find your own adventure as well.

Shourded in fog hiking the Paradise Loop on the slopes of Mt. Rainier.  Such a beautiful area!

It seems like every time we hike to Andrew’s Bald in Great Smoky Mountains NP, the forest is fogged in and rain.  It makes it so quiet and magical!

We’ve always had our kids outdoors and on the trails.  As a result, they love the adventure and always asking what’s next, like this day in the Island in the Sky section of Canyonlands NP.

Sometimes it’s just about a night out by ourselves.  Our kids were with all the nice people at summer camp so we snagged some drinks after work and a selfie in the famous Hotel Vandivort bathrooms!

The fam chilling at the beach house in Topsail Island, North Carolina.  We head there with my family every couple years.
