Here's just one of the examples of
character. The trees help blend the park in with its
surrounding--Phoenix's expansive Papago Park. Mill Avenue runs
behind the outfield wall but you'd never know it with the rocks and
mature trees. The billboards are neat that they help this as
well, instead of the ads just being part of the outfield wall.
They however, don't block the view of some of the larger pretty red
rock buttes. The whole area
behind the seating is lowered a bit from the seats and had nice rock
walls. The atmosphere is even unique with a constant stream of
jetliners streaming
by on approach to Sky Harbor. At times you could see 4 or 5 of
them lined up.
The scoreboard, as you can see, is a
little lacking! |
