Although I've driven by Turner Field
probably a dozen times I've never been there during the baseball
season or when the team was in town.
On the way back from a driving vacation
to North Carolina we timed it just right to be going through Atlanta
when they had a 4:05pm Saturday game.
This is the plaza in front of the
main gates on the north side of the stadium, called Monument Grove.
There are a statues of great Braves players like Hank Aaron and Ty
Cobb and plenty of space to accommodate crowds. (Although...I
think a "grove" is supposed to have more than just a few small token
trees...) |
